Just died sad.gif
He was my last, they all seem to die from the same thing....it may be age but i think our water is just to hard for them to live in.
So no more Bettas for us.
We still have all the other fish to care for that are not so hard to keep alive, but i am gonna miss have bettas around sad.gif

Yeah i think it is best sad.gif
They seem to only survive for 6 months before they get sick, the one i just lost i have had for 1 year and he was the oldest one ever.
I dunno, maybe our water is just to hard, i know my hair doesnt like it much. I just think it is probably nicer to not subject those poor little guys to only 6 months life with us.

It could be your water. They do sell aquarium chemicals that lower your pH, maybe you could try them? My oldest betta was almost 3 years old when he died. All of his fins just fell apart and he died fin-less. Have no idea why, didn't look like it could be fin rot..?

Thats what happened to this little guy except he still had some fins left, but then started to show signs of pineconeing but never actually got a full blown case.
The biggest problem with Bettas is you dont know how old they are when you get them. The pet shops here get them from china so they could already be over 12 months old.

Alot of our bettas in Virginia come from well, Virginia. Most bettas seem to average 4-8 months.
