Just curious as to what your husbands, wives,
partners, b/friends, g/friends, parents or guardians
think of your fishkeeping hobby,?
Do they support and help you or grump about it
and say i wish you never had started this fishkeeping lark?
All feed back appreciated, smile.gif

My husband isn't very supportive about any of my "hobbies". I just go ahead and enjoy my fish, don't tell him how much that I've actually spent and don't complain about his bass guitar "hobby". He doesn't complain about the fish tho, just the parrots!

Most of everyone in my house likes my fish, but doesn't like the fact of how much room it takes up.

Great question which i never really got to think about till now.

Well, since i am still "young" And i have a diff gf about every week lol, umm she will usually not care too much about it, just look at the fish for a minute or to and then move on biggrin.gif

My Parents do not mind it as long as it is not in my room. Most of my family thinks that it is a great hobby. but once i get my own apartment, i think it wont be as easy as it is now, as predator (a member on this forum) all ready knows.

my wife likes the reef, she is a little freaked out with the mantis but she is comming around

the only thing she doesnt like is the money as it took me 3 months to talk her into the $1200 lighitng upgrade because i didnt listen to anyone and bought lighitng that wasnt up to par, all she kept saying is "there isnt anything wrong with what we have" but she understands now wink.gif
she also doesnt like the price of the corals, but i dont mind, lol

Yeah pretty much same here. Most people don't mind it, or even think it's kinda neat and they'll share stories about their fish ect. But once they hear how much everything costs though, then you can just see their jaws drop, and crickets in the background tongue.gif.

As for support, I get some up to a point. But I had a lot before my parents knew exactly how much this stuff is costing me. ($400+ alone just for my assortment of bettas). I don't blame them though because even I'm surprised on how much everything costs when I stop to think about it. But once again, this hobby is becoming more like a business to me since I'm raising, selling and soon to be breeding bettas. (better than stocking shelves and mopping up aisle 5, or flipping burgers at my stage of life.. wink.gif )
