Man, WallMart is so bad. I only go there to get filter pad replacements. They always have dead fish and starving plecos. Full of snails. it is pretty bad over there. unsure.gif

I live in a small town in TN. Around here they say "If you can't get it at Wall Mart, you don't need it"

Wished our store had a knowledgeable fish guy running that department. There are always dead fish in the tanks. If you watch the fish long enuff, you can see how stressed they are. Some of the filters look like they are barely running, and look so clogged with hair algae. Oh and those POOR bettas!!!! they are puttin them in bigger cups now but they are only HALF full of water IF that!!!!!!!!!! Makes me wanna buy them all up just to help them!!!
I personally , never buy fish from walmart..(except bettas) .although I did a couple times in the past ---YEARS ago. Heck Im scared to, who knows what diseases you'll be adding to your tank. I suppose I could set up a Hospi tank of some kind, and quarantine them in there. What is the length of time normally for quarantine anyway?

For SW about 2-3 weeks,
not sure on FW but it's about the same i guess

The one close to me has clean tanks and very few dead fish. I still won't buy livestock there.

My LFS has lower prices that W. It's a small, very full pet store but cheaper and more convenient for me. And their livestock looks great, any sick fish are treated bofore being sold. reef/Nemo.gif

I live in Toronto Ontario,Canada, today was the first time went to Wallmart for Fish
supplies . Bought bubble wall 5.83, small mag- algae 6.97& 8' air tube 1.57.
They large tank baby Oscar 1" for 2.99 & the reg. bettas 5.47 can you figure that?
There was kid that had 20gal tank, that he had running a week and he want to buy
3 baby Oscar for it. I said to the parents look at the tank,it tell you that they eat live
food & they get big. I said go up street to Bloor & go fish store, go to back look at huge tank 5 fish that are 8" that look like these !Then talk the fish man you learn about Oscars. They said that we bought the stand for the tank bought here & he told us would wait until Monday untill he could to warehouse get stand but bought longer tank too for the goldfish too! reef/jester.gif Clown
