Here I was all excited at having all my betta boys in a 5 gallon tank...
Today I venture to the pet store to get food and what happens...I come home with another betta. But not in the way you may think. As I stand there talking to the pet store fish person - Peggy - a rather distraught lady comes over holding a coffee mug and saying she cannot keep thing thing anymore. We look in the mug and there is a little girl betta staring up at us. The lady had apparently tried to breed her with her $25.00 show crowntail. It did not work - the lady left them together overnight as they were just "playing" last night, chasing one another and stuff. When the lady checked them in the morning this little girl had shredded the male - his tail is gone! Needless to say the lady is not amused, so she marches to the pet store with the girl and wants to get rid of her. Now I have a 3 gallon just laying around empty so why not? The lady had named her Precious - she is cute - pinkish and purple. I think I'll rename her Delilah as she certainly brought the crowntail to his little fishie knees (kinda like Sampson and Delilah).
So now I share my desk with Delilah. When you have 5 what is one more?!
