Hello, I'm Stephanie
I'm new at this but my husband and I have a 90 gallon tank which we have had for about a year now and we started off with the cast of nemo but am only left two fish who are not in the cast but are extremly hardy and have made through a move in styrofoam containers and were predicted not to live. We have one stripped Damsel and one Orange yellow clown fish and 150 lbs of live rock some snails and crabs which were all purchased. But as of a month ago a strange snail like creature about an inch long and a bean shaped growth on it's back has apeared. It's best seen on the glass because it blends in perfectly on the rocks until it moves. I didn't purchase this what could it be just a slug? I have search the net with no avail the pictures that I have seen are much more exotic. Since I have had my tank for a year wouldn't I have seen something like this long ago. Seeing as though I have live sand, which also was shipped and stored in styrofoam for a day or two in the move. Has any one heard of this? sorry for the paragragh but this is pretty interesting to me.....
Thousands of things come in with LR. Many wont dont even see as they come out at night. So this could be one of them.

Sounds like a stomatella snail, they are good!! This snail comes out at night plus they make a good clean up crew & they are reef safe.
