Well i just got back from the petstore. I had gotten a betta (of course) from there, but for free since he is pretty sick. Fungus covers almost half his body, and all he does is lay on his side. I gentlely poured him into the medicated water, and he drifted downwards. Then he kept drifting down, until his face smacked right into the bottom ohmy.gif , and then he fell over onto his side. He's been like that forever now unsure.gif . Poor guy... The lil fish he was with were attacking him too, so his tail is a mess. I doubt he is going to make it, but it'd be great if he did. Anyways, i'll keep you guys updated.

He died shortly after I got him home.

GRRR... well I might as well add that... sad.gif my favorite betta (a pastal halfmoon) managed to get into another unit, and the girl in there kicked his ass. He has less than 1/2cm of ragged finage left around his body. I removed him, and added some meds, but he died shortly after sad.gif. *sigh* I wish bettas could just get along, that'd make life sooo much easier.

I know what you mean by how betta's are always fighting. I breed them every now and again, and it's impossible to get the male to stop harrassing the female while they are in the same tank, or for the female to stop harrassing the male. The trick is to get the female out and back into her usual tank as soon as she lays the eggs and helps the male get them into the bubble nest. Sorry about your losses. Good luck and happy fishkeeping!
