A NOTE ABOUT SPAMMERS:
Spamming is an illegal way of getting customers, or clients, to go to your website or domain. Many times these website will not benefit you, and will most likely harm your computer. Some websites will contain Spyware, Trojan Horses, Viruses, and pop-ups beyond the normal limit. One of the worst you can deal with is Spyware. It is a type of bug that goes into your hard drive and finds all your personal information. Every time you connect to the internet, that information is sent to the person that placed it there, without your knowledge. A virus and a Trojan Horse are a bit alike each other. They will go through your computer, kind of like Pac-Man, and just eat away at your stored files, photos, and history of online activities. They will also eventually eat at your hard drive so much that your computer does not work.
The best way to keep yourself protected is:
1. Do not click on links that look funny to you.
Example: www.ifoundacowtoday.com
2. Do not type in general words to find websites.
Example: www.saltwaterfishtanks.com
3. Buy a Firewall and Anti-Virus System.
Example: McAfee, Norton, PC Cillin (Recommended)
4. Do not visit sites with adult-content.
Example: Well, you all got this one, right?
5. Do not visit websites that advertise free products or services.
Example: www.freeipod.com
Following these five rules will help you. Doing all five will most likely keep you from getting any bugs on your computer. Remember, all websites CAN have a bug, but if you have a firewall the risk is very small (unless it is spam). If you have any questions or comments about the article, please send me a PM.
