Octangonal 21L tank
It will house a white male betta and some neon tetras.
I am so lucky to have another tank to clean

Congrats!!!
ill be waiting for those pictures!
Yeah, I'd love to see your white male betta. I don't like octogonal tanks that much, though. They're too high for my liking. For a betta and a couple neons it soudns like a great tank though. Congrats.

Fishfriends - Make sure you know the aggression level of the betta before adding neons. Also - Isn't 21L small? Neons should be in at least 10 US Gallons or more due to their schooling nature.
21L is about 5.5 US Gallons. I wouldn't put Neons in a tank that small.
Oh, I retract my statement then. I didn't know the measurement difference between liters and gallons. I figured that it was around 10 gallons, sorry. Yeah..at 5.5 gallons... I don't suggest adding the neons. Instead..I dunno, get him a couple little otto's for tankmates. A Betta and a couple otto's would make a great tank. Good luck

Fishfriend? Where'd ya go?

eh? Beam you up? Are you an alien?! coooooooooooool

Sorry, i have so many things happening at once most days *roll*
To start with the Betta is very timid in betta terms, he doesnt even bother flairing at himself LOL
Yes 5.5 gallons is about right for the octagonal tank.
Now why are you guys saying no neons? because of the size?
Here the fish per water law is...
1cm of fish per Litre of water
the betta is about 5cm Max and the neons get to 2-2.5cm which would allow me 1 betta + about 8 neons.
I know that it is pushing the over stocking bounderys but i am hoping to change water at least once a week if not twice, what do you guys think?
Aimee
Neons need a minimum of 10 US Gallons.
They may be small, but they need plenty of swimming space.

Sorry fishfriend but it is one inch per gallon which means you would have about 5 inches total to use in that tank. I would think about it before you do it. Neon would be fine in the tank if you went 3 maybe. Other than that your really over doing it. A betta in with a bunch of neons would be very stressful on the group and I would personally not recommend it. I wish you well in your decision however I would do more research on it and ask others if you wish.
Thanks
