Lionfishy, i have thought about the betta board or you could make it a lybrynth fish board.
We have new people coming over with bettas, so they could help with it and i think it would get so much attention since almost every fish person i have spoken with has either got a betta or wants one.

That would be pretty nifty, we could show people that bettas don't like being shoved into tiny bowls.

Of course bettas are very popular. And a lot of people need to be educated about proper care for them.

My betta is quite comfy (and happy) in his 6g tank without any companions.

A forum only for betta's might not fit in with the site. If we have a forum for betta's then some might ask for a forum for cichlids etc.

Betta's are so under-rated i just feel that people need to know that they do not live happily without proper care.
I have seen multiple posts on other boards about people keeping them in .5Litres of water
With no filter, heater or partial water changes (they use ammonia absorbing stuff) i just feel it would help so much.
I am not sure of the stats but at least 1 in 5 people will buy and keep a betta in their fish keeping hobby and seem to be most popular with the young ones. Please lionfishy let us educate people

Instead of a betta board what about doing a board that has a bunch of fish profiles. It could contain information about the most commonly kept fish and how to correctly care for them and deal with some of the misconceptions people have...like bettas can live in those stupid cups forever. it could have a picture of the fish, plant, invert, or whatever and then all the info. Just a thought.

Uhhh nevermind. I was just doing more exploring and found the fish profile part. That is exactly what I was talking about.

Kind of like a fact or fiction thing.

Fiction - bettas are fine kept in small tanks with no heaters better yet in a vase

Fact - they are just like anyother tropical fish in that they need good swimming room andgood water quality
