I have a silly question actually, and Im probably gonna feel really stupid after this. But, If you have a hospi tank setup, and its only used for that reason-whether it be for medicating or quarantine. Once the fish are treated and are put back in the usual regular tank. How does does the hospi tank stay cycled with no fish in it? Or is it even a cycled tank to begin with? blink.gif

I am starting to wonder the same thing.
At a guess, it will never actually be cycled because alot of the meds we use to treat illness kill of all the good bacteria wink.gif

But i was wondering i you should try to get it cycled (with white cloud minnows) just in case you only need to add salt to fix the fishy problem.

ANYONE know the answer to this question?

Add regular doses off starter culture bacterial additive once a week. It will keep the bacteria active. You might add a smmall amount of fish food at the same time to keep the bacteria happy. After treating a sick fish, treat the tank with a wide array of medications, this is called shotgunning, to remove any leftover diseases for the next fish.
