i keep 3 goldfish in a 30 gallon they are very personable.

NeonTetraFan- 08-05-2005
Isn't that pretty small for goldfish, froggy? I would suggest at least 55 gallons or more for most species of goldfish.

SoulWeaver- 08-05-2005
Nah that's just fine for goldfish.

NeonTetraFan- 08-05-2005
Unless he is talking about common goldfish. They get 2 feet plus.

Bearing in mind that gold fish range in size : Common: Slightly over a foot (14 inches) Fancy: up to 10", and the huge waste producers that they are,
Then a 30g is definately not a large enough tank for 3 goldfish,
Sure you can get away with it if they are small and you do regular
water changes, but as they grow, and they grow fast, then a 30g
will not be enough to house them as they max out to full size.

Nicely put, conaquavict.

they are all in the 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inch range now i am planning on a 75 gallon by september for them and the filter i use now has a 400 gph rate i think thats fairly good for a month or so.

You should be ok with a 75g.
