My friend read somewere online that you can convert freshwater guppies into saltwater fish. Is this true my friend has hundreds of baby guppies in a 5 gallon breeder tank and decided to put one of the baby guppies in his 10 gallon SW tank. It only has about 3 pounds of live rock and he said its been about 4 hours and the guppy is still alive.

I don't think that's true. I'm not saying I'm right, but I've never heard of guppies being converted to saltwater.

They can live out their life in brackish water, but not salt water. At least I really don't think so. Guppies are hardy...but not quite that hardy.
