I get one betta fixed and then another decides to get a dose, i am thinking i will just keep the tanks lightly salted from now on.
As soon as i stop the salt they fin rot starts again, and all my tanks are fully cycled, so i am guessing it has something to do with the PH maybe.
Any ideas?

Maybe it is living somewhere in the tank. Did you syphon the gravel and do water changes?

fishfriend- 07-26-2005
Yep, we do weekly water changes and gravel vacs, it is a 50L tank with 4 male bettas, heater and filter that does 400L per hour all -*test*-('") come back ok
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate under 10ppm
Ph 7.6
Temp 78 deg

Dang. Maybe the betta has an internal parasite which keeps spreading.

Malafix it.

tried Melafix LOL it does help heal.

The fin rot never gets to serious normally just a little discolouration and then i treat with a little salt, use melafix to heal then hey presto all ok until another of the 10 decide to give it a try sad.gif
Im sure it most probably has something to do with the pH or something, guess i will just lightly salt the tanks from now on and see what happens wink.gif
