ok, i dont get on this board very much

if you have a lot of algae issues we first need to figure out why
what are your param's @??
how long has the tank been running?
is it a reef or a fish tank?
what type of lightnig do you have?

with your question, all fish have there own personalities, so for someone to say that a fish will do this or that isnt really all that true, that is more of a guide line
LMblennies can eat all sorts of stuff, dritius, algae, food, etc

from what i have exp LMblennies wont eat hair algae after it has reached a certin length, if this is what you want it to eat, pull as much of it out as you can and the blenny will help with the new growth

your parameters will need to be in order for the algae not to grow, lmb, snails, and crabs will only hinder the growth a little

PS, sorry for all the questions smile.gif

well its a fish only tank. I have just 2 normal flouresent lights each 11watts. I dont get hair algae just light brown algae and lots of green algae. I scrape all the green algae till it falles to the floor and the blenny dont eat the algae. The tank has been up for a year or a little less.

ok, is the green algae hard to scrape off, if so that is coraline algae

with the brown algae, what does that look like, does it look weird like a sponge with air trapped in it, or just like a dusting

yes!! the damn green algae is hard to scrape!!! The brow algae is a dusty form easily removed with the sponge on my scraper

well, bud

sounds like the green is coraline and the other is a film algae

neither are something to really worry about, i use a magfloat to scrape teh glass every day, this will help teh coraline to not get started, not fool proof, but it will help, then about once a month i get the scraper out and scrape away

lmblennies really dont do much with coraline algae but they like the film algae biggrin.gif
